Well i moved into my new house on the weekend, it's a Victorian Terrace cit of close to Clapham North and Brixton Tube stations...Brixton has a bit of a Newtown/Enmore type of feel to it...very vibrant, alternative and busy. it's home to the Brixton Academy (a venue that attracts alot of good bands and acts)and it's stumbling distance from our place.
Clapham North is a little more sophisticated and joins up with the Common (a huge park area) that leads to Clapham South (where my cousin Naomi lives.Lots of bars and nice resturants on Clapham High Street. Now you can see my bedroom from a number of different angles...how exciting and then a bit of the house...
i still need to take one of the lounge room though. The bed is comfy and the storage is good, and my window looks down on out little courtyard of a backyard. i'm going to put flowers on my window sill to make it look pretty too. I have fresh flowers on my dresser at the moment, nice yellow tulips.

Night at the Walkabout

Naomi invited Mel and i out to the Temple 'Walkabout' for a bit of fun since one of their friends was bound for home...so it was kinda a farewell. Had an awesome time until i had a little too much party at the end of the night.

lets just say i've never felt so hungover...infact it was only the second hangover i've ever had. And it rivaled the one at the snow (when i was 18) with a vengance, but i survived it.

i guess jugs of Midori Illusions and crappy house wine are not the stuff you mix.

as you can see here from the pictures i was having a good time :)

London Walks

Yesterday i went on a Sherlock Holmes walking tour. Given my knowledge of the whole deal is defined by a very very general picture of the famous character. Basically you could say all i knew of Sherlock Holmes was that he was a London detective with a mate called Watson and who looked exactly like all the souviners. Well aparently thats a very wrong picture. I found the whole walk intriguing, though couldn't help but look at the floor or somewhere else when the guide would ask if i'd read a particular book or seen a particular movie...which obvioulsy i hadn't. any way i can confidently say i know 100% more about sherlock holmes then i did when i started...in fact i even know now that the author was Conan Doyle.

Today i did a DaVinci code walk...at least i had read the book...it was a good walk cause the guide really made it feel like a fictional story, by dispeling myths and the like...did get to go to the temple church tho and had movie scenes pointed out which i found the most interesting

Mel and i have just recieved word that we have got a place in Clapham North, sharing with an Aussie bloke, a British bloke and an Irish gal...it's a lovely victorian terrace!
i'll keep you all updated with that one...best be off now...mel and i are off to celebrate our new housing situation!

Brighton

Brighton is a tops place...kinds has an 'Entrance' feel...it would be an awesome place in the summer...it was pretty cool (literally) in the winter.

Old Brighton Pier: it burnt down twice...the second timewas dogged by a conspiracy theory that the owners of the new Brighton Pier set it on fire to destroy the competion...guess it worked.

New Brighton Pier: just like the one at Blackpool, full of rides, skill testers and 2p machines and lots of junk food...mmmm donuts.

As you can see i couldn't resist a go on the 2p machines...i made Mel spend a whole pound on 2p's, so we were there for a while. I bouhgt donuts for £1.50 and got change of a £10 note in coins...this country is nutty about their coins...or obsessed with coverting their £5 notes either way this was not my first experience with the £note nazi's...London is full of 'em too!

We didn't spend our whole day on the pier though...we did manage to make it to the Royal Pavillion which is a pretty spectacular building built with a persian type influence, i'd say it looked out of place but i think most things go in Brighton.

It was Paul's Birthday last week so we went out to celebrate. These pics are a litter later in the evening so some arn't that flatering but in this one let me introduce Annie, a first yr out Aussie teacher that is still battling it out at Paul's first crap school. she is an awesome gal...lots of fun, plus she was a local, so she was our tour guide for the nite too!

yes and here is the brithday boy himself..yay
and then a nice little shot of us on the pier in the freezing winds...the weather changes so fast, one minute it will be sunny and the next it's raining or blowing you off you're feet...i still really liked the place, but i don't think i'd stay at the 'Walkabout' backpackers again...the place was a shithole and that's me being complimentary.
and that then is Brighton

School Uniform

ok mum, here are some photos of the school uniform.
i scabbed these off the school so i don't know what the kids are actually doing in them, since the pics weren't taken by me...sorry they don't look like Harry Potter

Greenwich

Mel and i decided that we had to do a a bit of sight seeing around London after we walked along the Thames last Thursday night and realised that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good time. So on Saturday i whipped out the '50 Walks of London' my mum an dad got me before i left and we did Number 1 'Greenwich'

This is the Royal Naval College...which is something else now but all pretty impressive.

Across the road from that is a huge manor house where some Queen used to like hanging out, and the gardens are now a huge park. in the park on the top of the hill is the observatory...not just any old one, but the one with the Prime Meridian running through it!

After eating some huge Cream Scones we wandered around the town and looked though lots of markets filled with Antiques and vitage clothing and then one that was like the Rocks Markets.
It felt like i was in 'Bargain Hunt'...hehe

That night i spent it in the Freezing cold with the Duke of Edinburgh Kids...they had a camp out practice in the school grounds...it was heaps of fun till we had to freeze our butts off tring to sleep. At 5.30am i got up and piked... i went home and crashed for 3 hrs then came back to help clean up (the luxury of living on site)

Mel moved out of her place on Sunday, she's hanging out with me at my place for the week.

On Friday we head off to Brighton, then i'm on holiday for the week for 1/2 term break (how civilised)
